Andrew Adamson is a New Zealand film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his work on animated films such as "Shrek" and "Shrek 2." He was born on December 1, 1966 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Adamson began his career in the film industry working as a visual effects artist on movies like "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin." He then went on to co-direct the critically acclaimed animated film "Shrek" in 2001, which went on to win the first-ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Adamson also directed the sequel "Shrek 2" in 2004, which was even more successful than the original film. He later directed the live-action/CGI film adaptation of C.S. Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" in 2005, which was also a commercial success.
In addition to his work in animated and live-action films, Adamson has also directed music videos for artists such as Smash Mouth and Tina Turner. He continues to work in the film industry, with various projects in development.
